About Tim Link

Tim brings a successful track record as a corporate VP and over eighteen years of organizational leadership experience to his coaching and consulting practice. His diverse experience includes: sales, marketing, sales management, public relations, personnel, recruiting, training, and general management. He has experience in start ups, turnarounds, established businesses and mergers. His clients represent many industries including construction, manufacturing, education, aviation, financial services, health care, high tech, telecommunications, real estate, business services, pharmaceuticals, government, education and non - profit management.

Tim is known as a passionate and intuitive straight talker who shares insightful feedback and facilitates a process of inquiry that clients find both challenging and rewarding. He partners with clients to raise their level of interpersonal and technical competency, to see and surpass their obstacles, and to adopt a more focused, strategic approach to effective leadership. Tim consistently enables leaders and their teams to unleash their potential while finding greater meaning in both their work and personal lives.

One of Tim strengths and passions is to provide support for leaders as they transition into new roles, including:

• Executive Transition. Preparing senior leaders to make a bigger contribution to their organization by speeding up their promotion readiness and accelerating their assimilation into new roles.

• Mid Life Male Executive Support. Supporting mid life executive males as they seek to reinvent themselves and find more meaning in both their work and their life. His graduate thesis was a study on men in midlife.

With his support, leaders navigate these transitions effectively, while accelerating their careers and benefitting their organizations.

Tim also conducts workshops on behalf of clients and independently in the following areas:

• Leadership Forums. Bringing small and medium sized business leaders together in a powerful group format that offers support and feedback in a confidential, board of advisors setting.

• Learning and Development Initiatives. Expand capacity for training and development departments by providing instructional design and delivery on key leadership skill training modules including emotional intelligence, change management, team building, and communication.

Tim coaches from a strengths based perspective. He believes that by fully identifying and maximizing one's strengths, a higher level of personal and professional fulfillment and satisfaction is more easily obtained. With his coaching, professionals in a variety of business settings develop the mastery to meet company objectives while maintaining a balanced work life. His clients appreciate his keen intuition, evocative questions, and attention to progress that has helped them go much further than they had ever expected.

In 1998, Tim was recognized by the radio broadcast industry's most widely read trade publication as a General Manager of the Year nominee. The multi station operation that he managed was also once recognized as market of the year, for outperforming more than eighty other radio stations in twenty two different markets across seven states.

Tim completed his coach training at Corporate Coach U and received his Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation (ICF), the world's largest professional organization of business and personal coaches. Tim is one of only two coaches in the state of Kansas to have earned this credential and has been a member in good standing of the ICF since 2001.

He is a graduate of Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing and holds Total Quality certification from the Wichita State University Center for Management Development. As a believer in lifelong learning and development, Tim went on to earn his masters degree in Organization Management and Development with an emphasis in Evidence Based Coaching from Fielding Graduate University.

Family and community are Tim's most important connections. A native of Wichita, Kansas, Tim has made the deliberate choice to live and work among his support system of family, friends and community. Tim's immediate family consists of his wife Jane, son Matthew and "doodles" Charlie and Cooper.

Tim believes in giving back to his community and has done so through service on a variety of boards including Communities in Schools, Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis and Rotary International.  He also volunteers regularly with the Boy Scouts of America, Youth Entrepreneurs of Kansas and St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  Tim is affiliated with the Kansas Leadership Center, a non profit organization devoted to increasing civic engagement throughout the state, where he is a faculty member teaching coaching in alignment with ICF competencies and serves as a Guiding Coalition member and leadership coach. Tim is also a member of the advisory board of Friends University for their Masters of Science in Professional Development program. Tim is an affiliate of the nation's premier corporate coaching firm, Pyramid Resource Group, Inc., recognized worldwide for coaching forward thinking corporations into new dimensions of leadership.
